Ann Robideaux is a choreographer, movement educator and producer. Currently a co-director of the Outlet Dance Festival at the Grounds for Sculpture in NJ, she is also presently involved with creating new dance films and choreographing commercially for such fun as musical theater and gymnastic floor routines. Recent films have been screened at The Rave de Danza, Rosario, Argentina; The Oklahoma Dance Film Festival, CinemaParque (Sternberg Park, Williasmburg, Brooklyn), ArtinOddPlaces archive on Governor’s Island, NYC; The Outlet Dance Project Festival, “Secret Lives”, “Dance Shorts” produced by The Physical Plant and featured on NPR.
Highly interested in site-specific theater, her choreographies with ann and alexx make dances (“dance in unusual spaces” with co-director Alexx Shilling) were created for the Lilac Steamship (Manhattan’s Pier 40), Eldridge Street Synogogue, The Sun Times Building (then Dance New Amsterdam), the Lightship Frying Pan (Manhattan’s Pier 65), amid light sculptures at Gallery MC, in the pool at Galapagos Art Space (Brooklyn), the storefronts of Chashama, in the seats of the Bushwick Starr and for Moviehouse.
Past live works for the stage have also been shown through out NYC at venues such as the Judson Church, Dixon Place, and the Merce Cunningham Theater; the American Dance Festival at Duke University; the Moscow Contemporary Dance Festival; The Tulsa Contemporary Dance Festival and at The Lab in San Francisco.
Ann is also certified in many levels of yoga and runs the company Asana Alphabet which brings high quality trainings to teachers and schools.
